About Us

Welcome to the website of 1260 Squadron (Newark and District) ATC, better known as Newark & District Air Cadets.

We are a well established (1941) group offering young people age 12 plus fantastic opportunities to try new experiences including flying and gliding, to learn new skills such as leadership and first aid, to take part in everything from civic occasions such as Remembrance Sunday and Battle of Britain parades, to make friends for life and, most importantly, to have fun.

Newark & District Air Cadets meet every Tuesday and Thursday evening at our Headquarters on Sherwood Avenue, Newark and offer some activity most weekends. There are week long camps both in the UK and overseas as well as achieving recognised qualifications including the Duke of Edinburgh awards. The variaty means there is something for everyone.

We hope that find our website informative but if you would like more information please don't hesitate to contact us.

The Motto

Adversa Magnos Probant (Adversity Shows The Great.) From the quotation 'Secunda felices, adverse magnos probant' by Pliny the Younger in his Panegyricus 31 translated as 'Prosperity reveals the fortunate, adversity shows the great.' (With thanks to the College of Arms)
