Air Cadets boosted by new joiners

An amazing number of 33 boys and girls attended the latest 1260 Squadron Newark & District Air Cadets open evening on Tuesday 27 September to join us and become our latest Air Cadets.

These young people will start their training on Thursday 29 September and they are scheduled to graduate at a ceremony in front of their parents during March 2017. During their training they will attend the Squadron on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, learn basics such as drill and how to look after their uniform as well as gaining skills including first aid and teamwork.

1260 Squadron Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire said, “I was delighted by the response that we had to our open evening invitation and it is great to see so many young people wanting to become Air Cadets. We also had a number of parents offering to join as instructors and help the existing volunteers to develop not only our new cohort but also all of our existing Air Cadets”.

It is not too late to join, boys and girls aged 12+ and in year 8 or above at school who are looking for adventure, fun and making new friends should e-mail [email protected] or call 01636 701260 without delay.
