At the 1260 Squadron Newark and District Air Cadets Civilian Committee Annual General Meeting held on the 16th June, Lyn Turner was elected as Chairman.

Lyn will be supported by Steve Derbyshire, who continues in his role as Squadron Treasurer, and Sarah Hall who takes on the position of Squadron Secretary.

On taking up the role of Chairman Lyn commented "I am really looking forward to engaging with parents of current and potential Air Cadets and encouraging more to become involved in supporting our uniformed staff. Having a son who is an Air Cadet I appreciate how much effort the staff make to provide opportunities for these young people, particularly flying and gliding which they all love". Lyn will also continue her role as Squadron media officer.

Commanding Officer of Newark & District Air Cadets, Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire said "Lyn has shown a tremendous enthusiasm for our organisation and I am sure that her ability to communicate with a wide range of people and her commitment to supporting our activities will help us to grow the squadron".
