To recognise his committment to Newark & District Air Cadets the Jack Oliver trophy for Airmanship will be presented each year at the Squadron's presentation evening to the Air Cadet who has excelled in all aspects of flying.
On handing the trophy to the Commanding Officer of 1260 Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire, Jack said "The Air Training Corps teaches youngsters self-discipline, commitment and gives the chance to meet new friends and have an interesting pass time".
Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire commented, "The squadron greatly values our on-going connection with Jack Oliver and the link that he provides to our very first parade night at Magnus School. Jack is an inspiration to our current Air Cadets and the Cadets who receive this tremendous award over the coming years will be following in a great tradition".
