Dining In Night 2017

1260 Squadron, – Presentation and Graduation Dining-In Night

1260 SquadronNewark & District Air Cadets held their annual presentation evening at Kelham Hall.

The annual presentation evening saw awards presented to those Air Cadets who have truly excelled over the previous 12-months in their academic studies, at sport, first aid and in the way in which they have become involved with the Squadron. In addition, three Air Cadets who joined in April 2017 and have passed their initial training graduated on the evening.

The awards were presented by Wing Commander Tony Wright, Officer Commanding Trent Wing who said “there is a real vibrancy about the unit with Cadets and staff all working together and every Cadet getting a positive experience from being part of the Air Cadet organisation”.

All of this was be delivered in the form of a traditional dining-in night, the type of occasion which those Air Cadets who go on to join the RAF will come across and a great learning experience for all of our Air Cadets.

The evening finished with 1260 Squadron Newark and District Air Cadets Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire saying, “I and all of the staff at 1260 Squadron are immensely proud of our Cadets, they put in a tremendous amount of effort attending on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as taking part in activities most weekends. A number of Cadets attended week long camps at RAF stations during the summer holidays and they were very impressive on parade in Newark at the Battle of Britain Commemoration Service.
