Air Cadets Impress

1260 Squadron Newark & District Air Cadets held their annual presentation Evening at Newark Town Hall.

Presentations and promotions were made to recognise the achievements of those Air Cadets who have excelled over recent months in their academic studies, at sport, first aid and in the way in which they have become involved with the Squadron.

The awards were presented by the Mayor of Newark, Councillor Dean Hyde.

The evening finished with Newark Air Cadets Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire commenting, “I and all of the staff at 1260 Squadron are immensely proud of our Cadets, they put in a tremendous amount of effort attending on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as taking part in activities most weekends. A number of Cadets also attended week long camps at RAF stations and others are taking part in a week at Beckingham”.

Flight Lieutenant Derbyshire concluded by recognising the continuing significant commitment of all of the adults involved with 1260 Squadron who volunteer their time freely and make it possible to provide a wide range of activities for the Cadets to benefit from and also thanked Newark town Council for kindly hosting the awards evening”.
