Swimming success

Newark Air Cadet Olivia Wightman has collected three swimming medals in competitions held at RAF Cranwell.

Initially, Olivia was part of a team of Newark Air Cadets who competed in the Trent Wing swimming competition where she won the 50 metres butterfly Gold and then a bronze in the individual medley race.

Olivia was then chosen to represent Trent Wing at a regional swimming competition where she was again successful, winning Gold as part of the relay team.

Olivia said, “I have always enjoyed swimming and it was great to represent Newark Air Cadets and then Trent Wing”.

Newark Air Cadets Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire said, “Our Cadets really enjoy taking part in a wide range of sporting activities and it was tremendous to see Olivia pick up three medals, a fantastic achievement for her and the squadron”.
